Announcing Our Permanent Location

We will be moving to our permanent location in January. Our new space is in the same mall but is facing onto Chesswood (so it will be super easy to find) and has plenty of free parking right in front of the store! Happy Fingers and a Background Completed...

I have never been able to use a thimble - the metal drives me crazy and the leather ones - well I just didn't like them. Along came Hilma, our resident sewing machine guru, and she turned me on to Comfort Thimbles. Theses are the niftiest thimbles that are made of heavy rubber. They are very comfy and the old finger doesn't sweat at all. I love it - I definately see an improvement in my hand sewing since I adopted it. The picture makes it look like an immense landing pad for a futuristic space ship but they are great!

We had an exciting day at the shop - Linda Franz, author of Quilted Diamonds and creator of inklingo dropped to say hello!

Linda is the inventor of Inklingos. Inklingos are a new kind of tool that replaces measuring and templates. Party Time and Applique Class

I have been working with the new Sashiko fabric (use this link to purchase online: Sashiko) and Quilt Patis-- my plan is to use this as the background for some floral applique.
