Have a Sheri Berry Holiday

I can hardly believe that I am telling you about a Christmas line in May but it is too cute to keep under "wraps". We have received the Sheri Berry Holiday line from Northcott and it is an absolute delight. With a retro vibe and unconventional colours you will have trouble resisting. There is a terrific panel and 13 gorgeous co-ordinates to choose from.

To tempt you even further Northcott has some free patterns available including a great table runner and tree skirt!

Quilting in St. Jacob's

We have been moving and grooving all over the store this week. I marked down about 200 bolts of fabric and moved them to the sale corner. We are making room for all sorts of new goodies so I was very busy with my red pen slashing prices all over the place. If you pop in the store be sure to check out the clearance corner for a great selection.

While Ann and the Sandys are hard at work at the shop I am off to St. Jacob's for the weekend. St. Jacob's is the Mennonite and Quilting Hub of Ontario and this weekend there are lots of quilt-related shows and activities. Here is the link to all the goings on but I will summarize them below:

The highlight of the festivities is always the NEW HAMBURG MENNONITE RELIEF SALE & QUILT AUCTION. This is one of Canada's largest quilt auctions but is just part of a bigger auction and sale ... if you have never been it is well worth the trip for a one of a kind experience.

Eat Drink and be Merry!

This spring vegetable fabric is very hot and we have brought back this classic line of foodie fabric from Makower. There are seven delicious co-ordinates perfect for kitchenwares and aprons. These are vibrant and realistic ... good enough to eat!
We found this terrific free pattern for a Barrister Apron by Megan Avery provided by Windham Fabrics. Grab a focus print and co-ordinate (a metre of the focus fabric and 0.5 of the co-ordinate will do the job) and whip up a couple in time for father's day!

Lutradur has been all the buzz in fibre arts circles. It is a 100% polyester spun bond non-woven translucent web. It is the perfect medium for many crafting, sewing and quilting projects. We have both the Lutradur and Lesley Riley's FAbulous FAbric Art with Lutradur in stock!

Cheryl will be doing a workshop using it on July 21st ... stay tuned for more details!

Summer Silk...It's Bliss!

We have a whole load of new yarn in the store including 100% silk from Debbie Bliss. Grab a skein of this divine fiber and make a fancy little scarf for yourself - looks great with jeans or for evenings. We also have a heavier silk/merino blend which is great for garments and chunkier scarves. I'm going to try Villandry Lace Scarf by Angela Roberge and see how it works out!
One skein makes this itty bitty beauty!

Serendipity Charm Packs and A Beach Party

We have a great new charm pack on special...Serendipity Butterfly by Northcott. This is a huge pack containing 64 charms and is available in two gorgeous colorways: melon and blueberry. I found a great free tutorial to make a Pinwheel Baby Quilt that takes only 24 charms and some background fabric!

Also new in this week is Beach Party from Northcott ... the focus fabric features kitties frolicking in the sun. There are 5 co-ordinates including fishies and a ditsy novelty. The 3 tone on tones are absolutely delicious and very versatile in blue and yellow. The fabric is only 9.99/metre.
