Our First Block of the Month Program...

We are very excited about our first block of the month program. Starting January 2nd we are launching the Thangles Buck a Block program. The quilt is made using a gorgeous colorway that plays the beauty of purple and blue batiks against a black backdrop. Any walk-in customer who would like to participate is welcome.

Yes, you really do get everything you need to make a pieced block each month for only $1, including the fabric and the pattern.

Here is all the detailed information:

To join, you must purchase a starter kit that includes a pack of 2” Thangles and a storage box from the shop for $6.00. This purchase will provide you with all the Thangles you need to complete all 12 quilt blocks – with plenty to spare.

You may purchase only one block kit per month at this special price. To make the program as convenient as possible, you may visit the shop on any day of the month you choose to pick up your $1 block kit. If you can’t come in during a particular month(s) you must purchase the missed block kit(s) for $3 to once again be eligible for the $1 block kits. No exceptions, please!

Additional blocks may be purchased at any time for $3 each, subject to availability.

We are currently renovating the new space. It will have a lovely big classroom and much more lighting than we currently have. Here is a sneak preview of the storefront:3961 Chesswood Drive

Happy Fingers and a Background Completed...

I have never been able to use a thimble - the metal drives me crazy and the leather ones - well I just didn't like them. Along came Hilma, our resident sewing machine guru, and she turned me on to Comfort Thimbles. Theses are the niftiest thimbles that are made of heavy rubber. They are very comfy and the old finger doesn't sweat at all. I love it - I definately see an improvement in my hand sewing since I adopted it. The picture makes it look like an immense landing pad for a futuristic space ship but they are great!
