We are very excited to be carrying a new range of prints from Northcott entitled Nature's Palette. Have a Sheri Berry Holiday

I can hardly believe that I am telling you about a Christmas line in May but it is too cute to keep under "wraps". We have received the Sheri Berry Holiday line from Northcott and it is an absolute delight. With a retro vibe and unconventional colours you will have trouble resisting. There is a terrific panel and 13 gorgeous co-ordinates to choose from.

To tempt you even further Northcott has some free patterns available including a great table runner and tree skirt!

Mark Lipinski's In the House!

We have been waiting and waiting and waiting but Mark Lipinski's new Line Califon is finally here. We love both colorways equally. The patterns and designs are bead and embellishment "friendly" so they are just waiting for your finishing touches.

Califon - Bright Fat Quarters

For those of you who aren't familiar with Mark Lipinski. Mark is the “the bad boy of quilting” and is a media phenom! Mark conceived and developed an innovative magazine for quilters named Mark Lipinski's Quilter's Home, which is published byCKMedia and is available on newsstands and by subscription. He is also a designer, teacher, quiltmaker and much talked about public speaker!

Finished Goodies...and More to Come!

Well this has turned into a week of finishing things! We counted inventory -- *phew* that's a great job to have finished. Monika finished the most scrumptious receiving blankets you could ever feel. The fabric is double sided Minkee so all we had to do was bind the edge. We used a slightly wider than average binding and voila...2 blankets in the span of 2 hours.

Next I finally finished my two pairs of little socks...I used the self striping Cotton Joy from Needful and they are very comfy (at least according to Davey). During the summer Sock Club will be held Tuesdays from 1:00 - 3:00 so grab your knitting (doesn't have to be socks) and join us for an afternoon of knitting and chatting. Hilma will be there to answer all questions...she'll even teach you how to make socks if you haven't before!While we were on a roll finishing things I decided that I would finish one project every day for a week! This may seem impossible but if they are small things I think I can do it. I started with these pillowcases. One for DAvey and one for Conkerr. Isn't the gnome fabric adorable it is from Northcott and we have lots left in the store. So that's today's project already completed. Tomorrow I will make two more ... this time using baseball fabric for my older son. I have so many UFOs to choose from ... I'll have to get organized for the rest of the week!
Finally we have the ruler racks I bought at the Hamilton Guild Show in the store for only $11.99 ... aren't they wonderful?

More Yarn, A Few New Bolts, Another Class...All In All a Busy Day!

This has turned into a bit of a hectic week...mostly caused by the yarn chaos! I have started adding it online and I am very pleased to announce that most of it is 40% off the suggested retail price.

Today I added a great super-soft eyelash yarn called Amsterdam (pictured above) which comes in five sumptuous colors. There are also two lightweight yarns suitable for summer projects : Kikki which is an Aran Fiber and Skipper which is an Egyptian Cotton made in Italy and comes in 7 colors. My mom is busy making it into dischcloths so we might have a picture of one soon!After playing with yarn for half the morning I zipped out to Northcott and picked up some of their wonderful Papillon solids and found these two great In The Beginning Fabrics ... both are only $9.99/metre. Every Wednesday Ann will be hosting a two hour techniques class. Each two hour session is only $12.50. This is a great chance for you to sharpen your skills in a small group setting. Each class will be offered once during the afternoon and once in the evening.
