Hexamania - Background Decisions

We've made some good progress on our Grandmother's Flower Garden Flowers and it's time to start thinking about backgrounds. You could make more hexagons from a background fabric of your choice and add them to the flowers, you could applique the flowers on to squares and piece the squares, you could put your flowers together with no background, or you could use diamonds to piece the flowers together. It's up to you and what kind of look you want for your quilt.

Judy is going with a row of hexagons in Kona Snow around each flower for her 1930's Reproduction Flower.

Carol (that's me writing the post) needs your help!

I'm doing the brights and I feel like I have many options with the background and I'm not too sure about which one to choose. When I started doing the brights flowers I was pretty sure that I wanted to use Kona White. But when I auditioned the flowers on it I was not so sure. So I put the flowers on some different backgrounds to see what they look like... and I thought I could use your help. What do you think would work? I would most probably do a row of hexagons in the background fabric around the flowers. Do you think Kona White would still work?

I'm also in love with Grays. This is Kona Ash.

Kona - Coal

Kona - Natural

What do you think of the flowers all together? Maybe just a few hexagons in white/natural/coal so I won't need sunglasses when I look at them? :)

What do you think? Would really appreciate your help!
