Fundamentals Sew Along - week 35

Hi Everyone:

     Where has the summer gone?  Even though fall is my favorite time of the year, I am sad to see the end of summer. I am enjoying some time at the cottage sewing and as promised this weeks blog post.



My Favorite Sewing Spot

This weeks block is called Propeller.  It is an interesting take on the Pinwheel block.  The first step is to piece 4 half square triangle squares using fabric #1 and #3.  Don't forget to trim those little triangles off the corners of your squares.



Add A Triangle To Your Half Square Triangle Squares

Sew 2 triangles to your pieced squares to make a pieced triangle.



Add 2nd Triangle Resulting In A Pieced Triangle

 Arrange segments like this (see diagram below).



Block Segments

Sew your  triangles to your pieced triangles to make squares. You will have 4 squares.

Fundamentals Sew - Along Week 34

Hi Everyone:

      Can you believe that we are two thirds of the way finished!  I am really enjoying this journey.  I hope you are as well.

       This weeks block is called Fox and geese.  It is a variation of last weeks block.  You will need to make 2 pieced triangles just like you did last week and then sew the pieced triangle to a large triangle to make a square.  You will need to make 2 block segments this way.

Next you will sew half square triangles squares from fabric 1 and 3 triangles.  You will need to make 4 of these.




Half Square Triangle Squares

  Sew the squares and pieced squares into 2 rows.  Sew the rows together.  Don't forget to press your seams as you go.
